Jack’s Diary (Titanic)

Dear Diary 12.35 am

It is around 12.35 am and I have just heard a weird noise, a scraping noise against the side of the ship.  I was really worried.  About 10 minutes later a steward rampaged into our room and shouted evacuate and do it quickly!  Do it now!  My family panicked.  We put our warm clothes and our life jackets on.  We were so scared!  We went up to the lifeboats.  Sadly my brother is classed as a man.  I was upset as he had to stay behind on the sinking ship.  All of the first class passengers always get on the boats first.  Carelessly the first class passengers just walked up to the lifeboats.  It really annoyed me.  Nervously all of the men stood there thinking if they were going to survive.

Entry 2 – 4.35 am

4 hours later the Carpathia came to rescue us.  Thank goodness my brother was safe.  We saw him on the Carpathia.  It took quite a while to get to New York but we were happy as we were still a family.
