Magnificent Floating Palace!!

Titanic, or as most people are calling it, the floating palace, was launched yesterday at noon in England’s Southampton where everyone crowded to see the magnificent ship.  People like Bruce Ismay and other important people waited to board.

The floating palace Titanic was built in Belfast in 1909.  Although Bruce Ismay is the owner of the Titanic he did not build it.  Harland and Wolff built it.  Bruce Ismay however did pay for the ship so it is his ship.  As time went on, just as it was almost completed, Bruce Ismay decided that the ship should have less lifeboats so it could have more passengers.  The lifeboats are not needed as they say the boat is unsinkable.  The ship was ready to be transported to Southampton by the 31st January 1912.

Standing by the quayside it’s hectic.  There’s crying and cheering.  There is lots of excitement and happiness in the air.  There’s people from all over.  Some people were just there to see the boat and to admire it.

The facilities on board are amazing.  There is first class, second class and third class. There’s a first class lounge, swimming pool and also a gymnasium and lots more.  It’s all of those special things that make the Titanic a floating palace!

At last the ship sets sail while everyone waves goodbye.  The Titanic is heading towards France then to Ireland and then on across the Atlantic Ocean with all the passengers settled and having fun.
